In A Sister’s Name

A collection of poems by African-American poet Sarah Louisa Forten Purvis. The title of this collection is In A Sister’s Name. Although she has been represented in several anthologies, and online articles, her poems, letters and essays have never been brought together in one volume. Writing a biographical sketch of her life has led to extensive reading and research. Under review by a university press. Much more to come on this project.

The Anarchist’s Bride

Patricia’s next full-length nonfiction project is the story of a woman born as the Civil War ended into a well-connected and privileged Philadelphia family. As a pampered only child, she was educated at Wilson College in Pennsylvania, and Vassar College in New York before moving to Chicago with her parents. There, her fate took a turn as she became involved with the Chicago Anarchists. Publication date: Summer, 2025.
