In A Sister’s Name

A collection of poems by African-American poet Sarah Louisa Forten Purvis. The title of this collection is In A Sister’s Name. Although she has been represented in several anthologies, and online articles, her poems, letters and essays have never been brought together in one volume. Writing a biographical sketch of her life has led to extensive reading and research. Publisher, and publication date, are unknown– much more to come on this project.

The Anarchist’s Bride

Patricia’s next full-length nonfiction project is the story of a woman born as the Civil War ended into a well-connected and privileged Philadelphia family. As a pampered only child, she was educated at Wilson College in Pennsylvania, and Vassar College in New York before moving to Chicago with her parents. There, her fate took a turn as she became involved with the Chicago Anarchists. Publication date: Fall, 2024
